Killer angels are roaming outer space looking for their messiah. If Captain Latimore can’t make them believe he’s the one, everyone on his crew–and many more besides–will die.

Captain Eric Latimore leads a four-person crew to Lagos to investigate a previous team’s mysterious disappearance. Once there, he discovers that an ominous alien presence is invading their dreams. Each member of his crew has the same dream–huge, seductively beautiful “angels” speak to them telepathically. The creatures strand his crew on the planet and only Latimore can free them–if he survives.

EXCERPT:

Their visitor entered the cave and stopped just inside. To Latimore, it looked like a fierce, black, two-legged hawk over two meters tall, bulging with armored muscle. He saw massive claws and a cruel beak designed to rip and slash. Seconds passed, broken only by the sharp rattling sound of the thing’s breathing as it sucked in air and released it.

Air over razors, Latimore thought tensely. It sounds like it’s got thousands of tiny razors and knives floating inside there.

The visitor stared down at them with bulbous red eyes and breathed. Air over razors and knives. Even from across the cave, Latimore caught its heavy oily smell.

“Eric,” Gouyen hissed behind him. “What is it?”

He turned his head carefully, keeping his eyes on their visitor. “I saw them on the alien ship,” he hissed back.

“The ship? I thought the aliens were dead

“Yeah, me too. And this one’s a lot bigger.”

He turned back, the rock still clutched in his raised hand. But he did not move it lest he prompt an attack. No matter, the alien was coming toward him anyway. Latimore’s heart lurched in his chest; he drew the rock back in warning.

The alien took one giant stride and stopped. It opened its beak.
